Get the biggest, shiniest axe you can. They do more damage.
Ok, not really. But there is no 'best' axe to tell you to get. We don't know what skills you use, what monsters you are fighting... you haven't told us anything we can use to help you. |

The only real differences between axes are stats. How it looks doesn't make a difference at all. What stats work best will depend on how your characters attributes are lined up.
My advice, get a weapon with an attribute you can meet. |

You should have multiple axes: 1. Ebon/Fiery/Icy/Shocking Axe for warrior monsters or those weak to an element. 2. Vampiric/Sundering Axe against anything else. 3. Zealous Axe for when you need energy. All of them should have a form of Damage +15% (most people go with while Health is above 50%) as well as Defense or Fortitude mods. If you don't have much money, you could try buying green weapons. [wiki]Warrior_unique_items_quick_reference#Axes[/wiki] has a list. Or you could find a [wiki]Weaponsmith[/wiki] or [wiki]Collector[/wiki] with a decent weapon, one that has Damage +15% (while Health is over 50%) or something similar.

you want this for trolls:
Firey _______ axe of trollslaying(or of defense or of fortitude) req __ axe mastery (less that 12 hopefully) Fire dmg 6-28 +15%damage(while enchanted) +20%vs trolls(or +5 defense,+7shelter,+29 -30 health, whatever you can get) also req 9 tactics shield, -2 damage (while enchanted) +45 health (while enchanted) This is ideal to farm the mountain troll this is assuming you will be a warrior/monk using enchants such as live vicariously/vig spirit/mending |

I use axe on my war/monk and its mostly down to the skils you put together.
You could do a whole lot worse than check out some axe builds online the guildwiki builds are back up. You can be guided there as to various builds and their uses. If you did take advice on a specific axe you may well find you spend more time trying to find/buy that axe then playing the character. Eventually you are almost certain to customise your own axe by upgrading the runes embedded in it. You may want health or energy or other effects depending on target type and playing style. Start small and cheap and upgrade when your ready, is the best advice I can think of. If you really do want a reccomendation for the best axe from another player. Check out what fetches the most online its probably what is considered "the best" |
